Your 11-night journey begins in the capital of Beijing, formerly Peking, where modern architecture is mixed with the historic sites of China’s past. From the Forbidden Palace, Tiananmen square to the architectural masterpiece of Beijing national stadium or ‘Bird’s nest’ which hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Olympic games. Head south east to the city of Xian where the highlight of your visit will be to the Terracotta Army depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China. The final stop on your tour of China takes you west to China’s biggest city, Shanghai. The heart of the city, Bund is a famous waterfront promenade lined with colonial era buildings. Shanghai is busting at the seams with pop up boutiques, buzzling markets, a Michelin dining guide of its own restaurants, dynamic acrobatic shows, opportunities to experience Chinese opera, museums and galleries. China is a global power on the tourist trail combining ancient history and modern travel experiences

    Beijing - Great Wall of China and Ming Tombs Tour

    Beijing is not only the political center of China, but it is also the most strategic city in the north. Many dynasties in Chinese history actively built walls in this area. The famous sections include the Badaling, Huanghuacheng, Mutianyu, Jiankou, Gubeikou, Jinshanling and Simatai. If you want to experience the culture and enjoy the beauty of the Great Wall, meandering along the bricks of the Badaling is your first choice.

    For this join‐in tour, the tour guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel at around 07:30am‐08:00am. Driving to visit the Ming Tombs where lie the mausoleums of thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty. Changling Tomb, mausoleum of the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty Zhu Di, is the best preserved tomb area with the most emperors buried. Every year millions of tourists come to the site to appreciate its long history and palatial architecture. In the morning, you will visit the Changling Tomb.

    Lunch will be served at the Jade Carving Artistic Center, and you will have time to see the unique carving craft.

    In the afternoon, continue to visit Great Wall at Badaling, which is one of the most famous Great Wall sections. It is famous for its deep‐rooted culture, magnificent sights and complete military facilities ‐ the essence of the Great Wall. You may find many pictures of it in magazines and guide books and printed on stamps. Being the must‐see section of the Great Wall, it is sometimes flocked with visitors especially during holidays.

    At the end of the tour, drive back to downtown and visit the Traditional Royal Silk Center on the way.

    Beijing - Full-day Emperor's Tour - Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace.

    Uncover the wonders of ancient China with this incredible day tour of bustling Beijing by bus. With a population of over 21 million inhabitants, Beijing truly is the capital of the People’s Republic of China, and the centre of this vast and exciting country’s political and cultural life. This comprehensive day tour will take in historical sites, busy markets and delicious Chinese cuisine to give you an insight into a remarkable culture.

    Begin your tour at Tiananmen Square, the gigantic ‘heavenly peace’ square famous for the pro-democracy protests of 1989. Then pass under the huge portraits of Mao hanging over the imposing Tiananmen Gate, built under Emperor Ming in 1415 and step inside the Forbidden City. This vast site was the Chinese Imperial Palace for over 500 years, the heavenly abode of the celestial emperor and his vast entourage and is completely unparalleled anywhere else in the world. Unesco declared it a World Heritage Site in 1987 and it’s easy to see why. The 980 buildings dating back to 1406 make the Forbidden City the largest collection of ancient wooden structures in the world!

    Catch your breath over a delicious traditional Chinese lunch and then head to the Temple of Heaven: China's largest temple complex. This beautiful circular building was used to make offerings to heaven for a good harvest by the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties from 1420. Finally, explore the Summer Palace which was the number one retreat for the emperors for 800 years and it is made up of a beautiful park, stunning temples and the world’s longest art gallery. Break up your busy day with opportunities to relax and enjoy the view on the bus and round things up with an unbeatable shopping trip at a market famous for trading in exquisite pearls.

    Xian has won over the hearts of people all over the world, famous for its fascinating past and its ancient artefacts! Known for its famous Terracota Warriors and its wonderful Silk Road that used to be the main trade network between the East and the West, this trip should definitely not be missed!

    We start the day with an interesting visit to the Banpo Museum, built on the excavations site of Banpo, certainly one for the curious and perfect to engage with the local culture and their past. Firsthand witness the archeological artefacts discovered in Banpo and even get the chance to walk around reconstructed houses that imitate the Yangshao culture, dating back 6000 years ago!

    Then we will visit the Terracota Warriors & Horses Museum, lots of intricate terracotta sculptures that were made as a funerary memory and buried with the first Emperor of China, Shi Huang Mausoleum. It is so unique and surreal, you almost won’t believe your eyes! After, we will wander round the Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum excavations, which is located around 1 and a half kilometers East of Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s Mausoleum in Lintong, Xian. It was listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritages and is certainly a destination you must visit whilst in China!

    A delicious lunch will be served in a local restaurant, after a morning of exploring. As we make our way back to downtown, we will visit the Terracotta Replication Factory that actually reproduces terracotta soldiers. Our tour guide will then drop you back at your hotel with some memories that will last a lifetime!. Overnight, Xian

    Spend a whole day getting to know the wonders of Shanghai: The beautiful Yu Garden and Old Market Town, the spectacular Bund, a choice of either Pearl City or Silk Factory stores, the Nanjing Road shopping experience, the serene Jade Buddha Temple, the vast Shanghai Art Museum, before ending the day in the relaxing Xin Tian Di district.
